I’ve developed a new daily routine. So far it is working out well. I’ve been making sure I do a little bit of cleaning each night. This makes my deep cleaning on the weekend that much quicker and there’s a whole lot less to do. This gives me more time to do the things I haven’t had time to do like sewing, knitting, gardening, or “name of your activity“. 🙂
This has improved my mood, and I’m able to enjoy more time with my daughter in the evenings!
I felt so good yesterday. I finally cut the grass after work! Yay me!! Came inside the house after cutting the grass and cleaned the kitchen, made my lunch for tomorrow, and even got to sewing dh’s school bag whose strap had pulled away from the main bag. It gave me great joy to use my new singer sewing machine which was straight out of the box. It sewed through the thick strap and two layers of canvas fabric like butter. Was simply a joy to use the new machine!!!
Everything today is passing by soooooo slowly. Time is just dragging. I can’t wait to get outside in the sunshine.

I broke down and had pizzahut pizza for dinner. Bad choice, I know! It’s not really what I had wanted to do originally, but when short on time that was the more convenient choice. After dinner with the family, I cleaned the kitchen then moved room by room. Starting with the kitchen, then moving to the living room picking stuff up and tidying as I went, ending in the bedroom. Hanging up clean laundry in the closet and tidying up around my bed, end table, etc. When all was said and done it was 9:30pm, and finally got around to tucking the little one into bed. Once I started cleaning I was on a mad dash, like a tornado moving swiftly and efficiently from room to room until I felt I was done for the day.
This is my official first post. I hope to update this regularly with tasty tidbits from my cooking, and my gardening updates, plus other things crafty. I thoroughly enjoy being creative. I love to cook from scratch, and knit/crochet. I also love sewing and will be trying to teach myself quilting. I bought a new sewing machine and have been aching to take it for a test spin. I love gardening and being able to provide for my family, and use fresh ingredients in my cooking/baking. Most of the recipes I use come from all around the world. I don’t shy away from using new ingredients, or trying new things. I think my family is thankful for the variety. I love to sit in bed and read cookbooks before I go to sleep, it’s like I devour the ingredients on the page, and visualize how I would make each recipe as I read it, and imagine the smells that would fill the room as I am cooking . I love the beach, and getting outdoors, the sounds, clean air and fresh smells. I also enjoy being active, but it can sometimes be hard to get out of the daily grind and find time to live a more simple life. This blog is my attempt to calm the chaos in my life through trying to live a more simple life.
